To improve our users' trading experience, we are rolling out a new trading feature: Grid Trading.
Grid trading is a technique in which a trader enters a position not in one go but in a sequence of orders. Usually these are entered as "stop" or "limit" orders around the current price level. Grid trading is similar to pyramiding where the position is built on when and if the trend moves in the right direction. This creates a fishing net-like grid of orders for realising profits in fluctuating markets.
* Please note that if the price breakouts of current levels that you have set your grid parameters around, then losses might be experienced.
Users can also enable our AI to automatically set the grid parameters (AI grid) with the values that are expected to produce the highest returns.
We'd like to celebrate our new trading feature by hosting our first Grid Trading Contest to reward our community.
How to engage in grid trading:
Gate.io's First Grid Trading Contest
1. Duration
From 9:00 AM GMT, August 5th, 2020 to 9:00 AM GMT, August 19th, 2020
During these two consecutive weeks, participants will be ranked on a daily basis.
2.Rewards
Contest results of the previous 24 hours will be calculated daily after 9:00 AM GMT (rewards will be distributed the following day)
Daily Rewards
1st Place: 80 GT
2nd Place: 50 GT
3rd Place: 25 GT
4th - 10th Place: 10 GT
Champion's Reward
The "Champion" is the one who ranks top in terms of the total profit during our contest's duration ; The Champion will be rewarded with 300 GT
3. Rules
1) Users that place grid trade orders are considered contest participants
2) Eight trading pairs will be available for Grid Trading (BTC/USDT、ETH/USDT、EOS/USDT、LTC/USDT、BCHSV/USDT、BCH/USDT、XRP/USDT、GT/USDT)
3)Contest results of the previous 24 hours will be calculated daily after 9:00 AM GMT
4)Minimum daily profit in order to participate: 30 USDT
4. Lucky Draw
After the campaign ends, there will be a lucky draw which will reward 50 grid traders with 5 GT each.
Users who grid trade during our contest period and share the relative announcements regarding the campaign are eligible to take part in our lucky draw. Their winning chances increase with every content they share, capping at 5x. (E.g. sharing on Facebook and Twitter will double your chances)

Introduction to Gate.io's Grid Trading
Grid trading is an innovative trading strategy that reaps profits in fluctuating markets. A strategy aiming to capitalize on price volatility by placing buy and sell orders around the same price levels at set intervals if certain conditions are met.

1. 'Smart Grid' can automatically calculate the highest-yielding ROI grid parameters and their values, including upper-limit price, lower-limit price, number of grids, by back-testing with the latest weekly data. Users are only required to choose the investment amount and create their Smart Grid.
